I am a Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma.
My research focuses on the analysis of satellite data to detect, assess and attribute ongoing changes of the terrestrial land surface. Specifically, I am interested in the statistical analysis of long image time series for trend detection, and the application of these methods for the observation and tracking of land cover and land use change. Lately, I have also expanded my research interests to the analysis of time series of satellite data with higher spatial resolution (30m) and analysis of LiDAR data. I typically combine field data, non-remotely sensed geospatial data (e.g., census data, population data), model results and expert opinions to arrive at a plausible and parsimonious explanation for the processes that could produce observed patterns.
